About Lylla Goheen, MA, RP, CCC, PgDip
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO License #17247) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCPA Member #11246467) based in Etobicoke, ON. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and specialize in couples therapy, intensive therapy, sex therapy, and chronic illness support.
Breaking Down the Wall
Have you ever felt like you are speaking a completely different language from your partner? You might be having the same arguments over and over with no resolution, or perhaps you are carrying the silent weight of anxiety, self-doubt, or chronic illness.
For many of the people I work with, these struggles create a silent, painful wall that leaves them feeling lonely and disconnected.
These feelings are often rooted in emotional patterns and old coping strategies that once helped you survive but now stand in your way. My goal is to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where we can understand the purpose of these patterns and gently reshape them so they no longer hold you back.

More Than Just a Title
I believe the most important factor in therapy isn’t the acronyms after my name—it’s the connection we build.
My goal is for you to feel that immediate sense of relief—the “exhale”—that comes when you realize you don’t have to explain why something is hard, because the person across from you truly gets it. I strive to be a real human in the room with you, not a blank slate.
I know that life can be messy, contradictory, and incredibly heavy. I established NuEra Therapy to create a place where you can bring your full, unfiltered self, knowing you will be met with genuine understanding rather than clinical judgment.
A Tailored, Inclusive Approach
Because I see you as a unique individual rather than a set of symptoms, I believe therapy shouldn’t be a one-size-fits-all solution. My approach is integrated and tailored to your life:
- For Couples & Polycules: I utilize principles from the Gottman Method and Sex Therapy. We will focus on what makes relationships last: building a stronger foundation of friendship, managing conflict constructively, and rediscovering the intimacy that brought you together.
- For Individuals: Whether you are navigating trauma, chronic pain, or anxiety, I draw from evidence-based models to help you move from hopelessness to empowerment. My goal is to equip you with tools to navigate life’s challenges with greater ease and clarity.
Areas of Expertise
At NuEra Therapy, I am particularly passionate about supporting women experiencing low or no sex drive due to chronic illness, as well as relationships of all kinds that are facing intimacy challenges. As a trained Gottman Therapist, I leverage a variety of evidence-based modalities to help my clients thrive.
